Yes, we did it! We have moved from South Western Ontario Canada to the South Shore of Nova Scotia Canada. We are now proud to call ourselves East Coasters. It was quite the journey too I may add.
The photo above is an extended view of our new front yard just as the sun is setting. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL here. Each morning, I greet the day on our front porch with coffee in hand. It takes me about 1/2 hour to say hello to this pretty place. It doesn't matter if it is raining, snowing or blowing outside; or what the temperature is. I just bundle up, have a seat and stare in wonder.
There are fishing boats that pass by in the morning - going about the business of lobster fishing. Birds we routinely see are Scoters, Cormorants, Mergansers, Loons and the odd Eagle. We also saw our first seal as it floated by on a very thin piece of ice. Amazing.
There is much to discover and explore in our new home area and province. It will be lots of fun to share these wonders with family and friends who come out to visit. We are very handy to a marina, a sailing school, and not far from Lunenburg (a world UNESCO heritage site), Peggy's Cove and Halifax.
I will also be building some gardens and tracking the differences of growing things between here and our former area. Should be interesting as we have moved from a zone 4 to a zone 6. Will try and keep some decent notes on my gardening discoveries logged here somewhere too.
Cheers for now, stay warm!
