Vacation for Hubby and I officially started Friday at 5:00. The evening was quiet, Hubby was achy, had a sore throat and runny nose... - of course. It is now Sunday and guess what? I am achy with a sore throat and runny now... lol. Figures! Vacation without problems or illness just isn't a normal vacation.
Not all is lost though. Saturday we went for a ride on the bikes, hit up the yarn store, CD store and the book store. So, not only did we have a fun day in between the aches and pains, we stocked up on things to occupy us for the achy bed days. Today was one of those days. I didn't mind too much though. Yesterdays trip to the yarn store yeilded some wonderful autumn coloured Noro Kuryeon (yarn) hehehe... almost worth getting sick for I tell ya!!
I also have one other little distraction to occupy me. Wednesday I was given the afternoon off from work. (My bosses feel that summer is a terrific time to get out and enjoy oneself so they rotate afternoons off for each (5) of us.) Anyways, I digress. During my afternoon off I caught up on some housework (yippee) and ran a few errands. NEVER, EVER, EVER, give me extra time to go pick up cat and dog food at a store that has pets....
...there he was, red curly fur up and down his muzzle, sculpted little bat/teddy ears flicking forward with curiousity, almond shaped eyes so dark and soft, and what??? no fur??? Yes, I met my first Skinny Pig and he met his first me. Thankfully Hubby was with me and was smitten by the little guy too. So, the short story is, Monet (his new name) has moved in with us. Out Cats don't mind, but the dog isn't too happy! Monet is settling in well and being just as cute as he can possibly be. Will do my best to get a picture of him up this week.
Oh yes, back to the vacation theme of this post: We do not have much in the way of plans as our spending money kinda went towards Monet and his needs. We do hope to get lots of biking in and maybe some horse back riding. Hmm, maybe, we could even get a couple days of camping in...
